The Heritage -- Francis Philbrook was a very talented tool an die maker who lived in Maine. He took to tackle making and collaborated with Payne and Leonard, and we have him to thank at least in part for the Leonard raised pillar reels. His name has been attached to the marbled red and black reels. | The Godfrey Brook Trout Reel is a swirled red/orange and black finish material applied to aluminum side plates. Up to eight layers of material plus an industrial, high temperature epoxy finish is applied to make the plates both very hard and solvent resistant. |
